This course provides the participants with the knowledge and skills around setting effective objectives. It supports the delegates to get to grips with planning performance and development. However the skills learned in this workshop can be transferred to all situations where planning is required. This workshop will also help line managers in their role of planning performance with their team.
During this course participants will:
Consider and discuss the organisation’s rationale for and commitment to setting stretching objectives
Identify the differences between well and poorly crafted objectives
Practise writing objectives for themselves and for others
Participate in an exercise to moderate objectives in order to achieve better consistency
Discuss why even the best laid plans can go wrong (we will look at conflicting objectives/objective overload/passive resistance to objective setting)
Create an action plan
