Barry Cushway is a Personnel Adviser to the Institute of Directors and a former ACAS Independent Job Evaluation Expert. He has over 10 years' consultancy experience. During this time he has worked for over 100 public and private sector organisations on organisation reviews, reward systems, performance management and personnel policies and procedures.
Before entering consultancy he had 20 years' experience in all aspects of HR management, including training and development, recruitment and selection and employee relations, most of this at a senior level in a Times top 100 organisation.
He is author and Executive Editor of Essential Facts-Employment, Gee's best-seller, described as “the UK’s most popular employment reference”, and The Recruitment and Selection Handbook. Other books include Organizational Behaviour and Design, Human Resource Management, The Employer’s Handbook, The Handbook of Model Job Descriptions. He has also written, edited and developed a number of software and self-learning packages and written articles and columns for magazines.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has an MA in Management Studies.
